Dr. Strangeland or: How I Learned To Stop Worrying And Love Taiwan

7.08.2003

Hey Everyone,

I keep saying that I will write more often, but then I continue to go weeks at a time without updating you about all the goings on in my life. The last you heard I had just celebrated my 25th birthday and was in the process of freaking out about getting old.

Since that life staggering event I have been keeping fairly busy with teaching and relaxing.

One new thing that is great is Adrian and I discovered that Taipei is about an hour and a bit's drive from our house so we spent a few days driving up there to site-see and such. And, there is a great Vietnamese restaurant in Taipei, so knowing that it is a short drive from my place is nice.

I finished off the smester at Yu Dah at the end of June and I was happy to see it end. I was becoming tired of my students and dealing with their shinanigans. It wasn't a bad semester, just felt long by the time the end was rolling around. After the summer break I am sure that I will be raring to go at it again.

One negative turn of events was the loss of my passport. I have no idea where it went. I am sure that I didn't take it out of my apartment and upon discover it's absence I tore through my apartment and came up empty handed. So it is my well-informed conclusion that the passport is missing. I have jumped through all of the hoops and in two weeks time I will have my passport.

Which is good news since I will be needing it soon after. That's right I am coming home soon. Not for good. Just for a vacation. I will get back to Canada on August 9th and will leave to Taiwan on the 27th. So hide your daughters and lock up your hide your ear muffs come I'm coming soon to a quiet town near you!
