Depression is merely anger without enthusiasm . . .
Well I am home in five days and this weekend had to be one of the most gruelling ones yet. Nothing like a little adventure just before you leave for vacation.
So this Saturday I worked until 7:30pm. And then it was off to Taipei and then onto Fulung beach to go to a rave/rock party thingy that Louise wanted to go to. So we take the bus to Taipei and walk around and drink coffee waiting for our train. The train leaves at 9:19 and we should be in Fulung by 10:30. Louise said that the show would go all night and that we could see the sunrise from the beach. Not too bad an idea.
We get to Fulung and find out that the show ended just before we got there. No problem. We'll just head on back to Chung Li. Ok so there is a problem. There are no more trains headed in that direction that night. So we were stuck. No problem we'll just get a hotel in Fulung. Problem. There are no hotels in Fulung.
Alright then. We'll just head to I-Lan and find a hotel there. So we get a train heading to I-Lan and off we go. No problem. We get to I-Lan at 12:00 and . . . problem. There is a big festival in the city and there are no hotels to be found. So, it is now 1:00 am and we are desperate for a place to crash.
Our choices are: go out to the countryside and stay in a room with no air-conditioner at some strangers house. Or take a bus back to Taipei and try to find a hotel there. I really didn't want to stay at a strangers so we took the bus to Taipei. Th ebus was really nice. the seats were comfortable and there were speakers right in the headrest so that you could hear the movie without disturbing the people around you. But the problem was that since we were driving along the coast the road was very twisty and I thought I was going to have to make a run to the bathroom to lose my lunch.
We finally arrived in Taipei at 3:00am and walked until we found a hotel. It wasn't the greatest place on earth. The bed was as hard as the floor and the A/C wasn't very strong. But it was a place to sleep.
Sunday wasn't too bad. Just came back to Chung Li and went to see MIB II. What a waste that was. If you haven't seen it yet . . . don't. Terrible terrible terrible movie. Why they made that "film" I will never know. I have yet to see a movie sequel that is better than the original. Honestly. I challenge anyone togive me one good example. the only thing I can think of is the Star Wars franchise. If you consider Episode 4 a sequel to 1 and 2, then there is the exception to the rule. Cause so far one and two have sucked ass Like so much volleyball.
